  • Do not thread, tweeze, wax or tint your eyebrows at least 3 days prior to the procedure.
  • Electrolysis should not be done within 5 days of the procedure.
  • Allergy testing is recommended before the planned procedure if there is any doubt you may be allergic to dye or pigment.

  • Avoid chemical peels, retinol, and retina-a within one week of the procedure.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.
  • Avoid having Botox or filler done in the brow area at least 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners).

Microblading Post Procedure Instructions

  • If swelling occurs you can apply ice to the treated areas for 15-20 minutes at a time. Ice helps to reduce swelling and aids in the healing process.
  • Starting the night of the procedure use lukewarm water on area and using your clean fingertips massage aftercare skin cleanser or antibacterial soap (about the size of a pea is enough) in the procedure area for 10-20 seconds applying MEDIUM PRESSURE, then rinse with lukewarm water. Lightly pat the area dry with a clean towel; then apply a very thin layer of the aftercare ointment provided to both brows (about the size of a rice grain is enough). Repeat daily morning and night for 5-7 days or until any scabs are gone (washing DOES NOT remove the pigment. Washing daily removes bacteria, buildup of product, oil, dirt and dead skin cells). We encourage you to wash your face and/or hair first with your usual products avoiding procedure area, once complete clean the procedure area as instructed above (if the antibacterial soap irritates procedure area you may use non fragranced baby soap because it’s mild).
  • Avoid face products that include acids on procedure area (glycolic, lactic, alpha hydroxy acid, etc.). Baby wash can be used for future washing of eyebrows and eyeliner to keep them from fading due to certain ingredients in various face products.
  • Do not expose the procedure area to the full water pressure of the shower until area is healed.
  • Do not rub, pick or scratch at the scab (epithelial crust) on treated area. Allow scabbing to naturally fall off (picking can cause scarring or loss of pigment).
  • Avoid sleeping on tails or end of eyebrows until scab is gone.
  • Do not submerge your face in fresh, salt or chlorinated pool or bath water for 2 weeks following procedure.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks following the procedure.
  • Avoid activities causing you to sweat in the brow area for at least 5-7 days.
  • Avoid makeup in brow area during the healing process. You can use a Qtip to wipe excess makeup off when wearing makeup in the future. During healing time pigment may fade and disappear, you may fill in your procedure area if you need to with your usual makeup once all scabbing is gone.
  • No makeup for 5-7 days following eyeliner procedure for best results.
  • You will not be allowed to donate blood for 1 calendar year following your procedure, per the American Red Cross guidelines.

What to Expect During Your Healing Process

  • Right after your procedure to day 3, your brows may appear a little darker than the original color of the pigment. Please keep in mind the pigment shade will lighten and fade about 10-50%.
  • Day 3, your brows may scab over and appear darker.
  • Day 4-6, your scabs begin to slough off little by little. The scabs loosen and fall off day by day as you wash them daily with antibacterial soap. When all scabs are gone you may fill in your brows at this time with brow makeup if you have fading.
  • Day 14, the brows can look dull, faded and possibly like they disappeared.
  • Week 4, you should start seeing the pigment in your brows coming back. If there are areas where the pigment has faded or look patchy you may fill them in with your usual brow makeup until your next appointment as long as scabs are not present.
  • After the 2nd session, the process starts over again but is a lot smoother. If you scabbed or flaked after the 1st session, you may notice less scabbing and flaking after your second session or further sessions.
